Today's drink is...MULLED WINE!

I absolutely love this warm, spiced, fruity drink on a cool day. The hot liquid warms and coats your throat and stomach, giving you all the cozy feels, which is exactly what I want on Thanksgiving.

Since I haven't had it in forever too, and most of my usual watering holes are closed for the day (as they should be!) I decided to make some mulled wine. Plus, I thought it would pair really well with our Italian Thanksgiving Meal!

I bought some mulling spices from Lowes recently to make the process even easier.

According to the packet from Spice Bazaar, bring to a simmer a cup of water, 1/3 cup of honey or sugar, and the entire spice pack. Add orange slices for a little extra zing! Aftering simmering for 15 minutes, pour in a bottle of full-bodied red wine. I went with a cab sav from Dark Horse since it was inexpensive, and I knew I'd be doctoring it up a bit. Bring mixture in pot to a simmer again. Then strain, and enjoy. Be sure to serve warm or, as I prefer, scalding hot.

That EASY!

Pretty delicious too.
