What you need to know:
- All women have a 12% to 13% chance of being diagnosed.
- Other factors put you at higher risk for earlier screenings, including:
- having a parent, sibling or child with breast cancer
- genetic mutations such as BRCA
- starting your menstrual cycle at an early age
- not having kids and having children at a later age
- If you don't know your family history, talk with your healthcare provider.
