Don't have time to read, but you'd like to learn more about the Grand Strand Witches Night benefitting the Children's Recovery Center? Listen to Van Roberts chat with event coordinator Amanda Hynes!
Dress up and have fun with Grand Strand Witches Night on the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet benefitting the Children's Recovery Center in Myrtle Beach and Georgetown.
Grand Strand Witches Night (GSWN) is an annual fall tradition open to men, women and children.
It is free to attend, but please consider purchasing official GSWN gear and raffle tickets. Proceeds help provide a safe place where children who have been abused can receive a coordinated child abuse investigation through the Children's Recovery Center.
Typically, after a child abuse incident is reported, intensive interviews are held in a police station or hospital with multiple agencies, and it can be even more traumatizing for the victim.
The Children's Recovery Center consists of a small group of compassionate medical professionals and child advocates who ensure the children are kept safe and their rights are protected. Their intra-disciplinary model allows for an interview in a more comfortable, home-like setting with a therapy dog, two-way mirrors and counselors and therapists taking precautions to avoid re-victimizing the child.
Unfortunately, there is a need for their services in our area. Last year, they assisted approximately 400 kids between Horry County and Georgetown County. It's hard, heart-breaking work, and we can support them through fundraisers like GSWN.
So mark your calendars for this fun, impactful event on Saturday, October 17th on the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet. While the event is all day, if you're looking to buy a GSWN shirt, koozie, sticker or raffle, you'll have the opportunity from 5pm to 7pm outside of Drunken Jack's that night.
