Santa Claus for Paws spreads the gift of Christmas to dogs and cats in animal rescues, but, in July, they're focusing on the shelters!
Throughout the year, the non-profit collects supplies and donations through sites such as Amazon and apps like Venmo, as well as some good old-fashioned drop-off locations, to bring joy and activity to shelter dogs and cats at Christmas.
Some of their most-donated items include toys, treats and fleece blankets.
These goodies are a big part of their mission since dogs and cats often experience stress and boredom at animal shelters, and the special treats reduce anxiety and stimulate their mind and body.
They're also a luxury that many animal shelters can't afford as they try and provide the basics, food, cleaning supplies and bedding, which aren't always in big supply, to the constant and ever-growing influx of animals.
The summer months are particularly challenging, when donations are at their lowest.
Santa Claus for Paws and EASY Radio hopes to change that by restocking their shelves, also benefitting the dogs and cats in their care, with Christmas in July. Donate to help from the comfort of your home!
