Summer Starts Here: Why Myrtle Beach Does Summer Better
By Glenn Dye – Easy 105.9 & 100.7
There’s just something different about summer in Myrtle Beach. Maybe it’s the smell of sunscreen mixed with salt air… maybe it’s hearing your favorite songs with the windows down… or maybe it’s knowing that around every corner there’s something fun waiting to happen. Whether you’re a lifelong local or making your annual beach pilgrimage, summer on the Grand Strand always feels like a celebration.
Of course, the beach itself gets top billing. Early morning walks, afternoon sandcastle competitions, and those evenings where the sky turns pink and orange over the Atlantic—it never gets old. But summer here goes way beyond the shoreline. Grab fresh seafood, cool off with ice cream, catch live music, stroll the boardwalk, ride the SkyWheel, explore local shops, or just people-watch and guess who’s visiting from Ohio (locals know the game). Every day can feel like a mini vacation.
One of the best parts of summer in Myrtle Beach is how much there is to do for every kind of person. Families can make memories at attractions and water parks, couples can sneak away for sunset dinners, and friend groups can fill entire weekends without repeating the same experience twice. Some days call for adventure. Other days call for a beach chair and absolutely no schedule at all—and both are perfect.
And before we go… thank you. Thank you for making Easy 105.9 & 100.7 part of your summer soundtrack.
