The 98th annual Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, March 15 from Hollywood, at 7:00pm.
I love going to the movies and I also love watching at home. I only went to the cinema for one movie this year, Superman, which I enjoyed very much.
Sinners set a new record for the most Oscar nominations in history, collecting sixteen nods that include Best Picture, Best Director for filmmaker Ryan Coogler, and Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan’s dual role as twins who face down an onslaught of undead evil in the Jim Crow south. One Battle After Another, Sentimental Value, Marty Supreme and Frankenstein also racked up multiple nominations. Here's the list of the Best Picture nominees:
Bugonia
F1
Frankenstein
Hamnet
Marty Supreme
One Battle After Another
The Secret Agent
Sentimental Value
Sinners
Train Dreams
I am happy to announce that I actually saw a nominee, Sinners! (I haven't seen Frankenstien yet, but it is on Netflix so it's just a matter of time). Superman wasn't nominated for anything as far as I can tell.
I loved Sinners, but I've always loved monster flicks since I was a kid. Wolfman, Dracula, the Wolfman, Frankenstein, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon were my buds.
I don't know if you'll be watching the Oscars, if you have a horse in the race or not, but I'll be pulling for Sinners!
Is all sixteen too much to ask for?
